Sam's First Beach Day

Sam loves the water but this was his first time in water with waves and pebbles. We went to visit my Dad on the Cheseapeake Bay. He was not a fan of the pebbles but once he got out in the water he enjoyed it.

Happy Father's Day!

I'm so thankful for Matt and the heart he has for us. He always puts us first and is delighted by our son Sammy....
Mmm... pureed spinach

Gardening in the City

Matt built a bunch of raised beds and we filled them with compost from our unsightly pile and organic soil. Then we got plants from Joshua Farm and planted some from our own seeds. This was a picture from a month ago.
There's now pumpkin and zucchini too. The plants are all huge now!

Roof deck plants from last Summer.

Recent and Not So Recent Projects

Sam's Nursery

Here he is enjoying the view of the trees and the nice soft cushion.

Since I was recently linked to my friend Joy's blog post, I figured I should update this blog. It's been 3 months since my last post and over a year before that.

Matt and his Dad are very talented. In fact, their whole family is very good with their hands.

Here's the window seat Matt and his Dad built in Sam's room in one day!

Here's Sam on the window seat with cushion when he was a month old!

I had leftover fabric so I made curtains for our bedroom and pillows for the window seat... with a lot of help from my friend Lenora. Matt & his Dad made the dresser below and his Dad made us the bed before we were married.

Here's the beautiful crib & changing table Matt's Dad made for us.

Matt's Great- Grandad made the rocking chair

Lastly, here are some paintings I made:

It's been over a year!

A lot has changed since last year's Christmas. This year, we went to Christmas with our son Samuel! That's the only really big change but it has changed everything.

I decided it might be easier to post updates about our family here instead of Facebook, since even the filtered down list has folks I don't really know anymore. So, expect some updates soon.
